Street Outreach

Reaching the Unreachable

The HOPE COS Street Outreach Program connects with individuals experiencing homelessness, offering essential resources directly where they reside, such as in camps and on the streets.

Providing Essential Resources

Our team provides food, water, hygiene products, and clothing to meet immediate needs, building trust with those we serve.

Guiding Toward Stability

We help individuals access services such as warming shelters, recovery programs, and housing, offering referrals and personalized support to guide them toward stability.

Emergency Warming Shelters

In 2022, HOPE COS opened warming shelters to fill a service gap for individuals experiencing homelessness and facing acute substance use disorders or mental health challenges.

Supporting Those in Need

Our shelter serves individuals who are either suspended from local shelters due to behaviors related to substance use or mental health, prefer not to enter local shelters, or do not wish to leave their personal belongings unattended in camping spots.

Transportation and Shelter Operations

We transport both individuals and their belongings to our emergency shelter location. When the weather improves, we assist with transportation back to their desired location.
In 2022, we served an average of 70 individuals per event, and in 2023, our two locations reached capacity with 240 participants over three nights.

Connecting to Supportive Services

Our warming shelters also provide participants opportunities to connect with supportive services through HOPE COS case management.

Peer Support Services

Overview

HOPE COS offers Peer Support services to individuals facing challenges related to substance use, homelessness, and recovery. Our Peer Support Specialists have lived experience and provide practical guidance and encouragement to those seeking stability and healing.

Shelter-Based Support

Peer support is available 24/7 at our shelter, where specialists assist guests in navigating personal struggles, building trust, and connecting to recovery programs, housing, and employment resources.

Core Approach

Peer Support fosters a non-judgmental environment, empowering individuals to take control of their recovery and life decisions. Our team ensures that guests are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, aligning with HOPE COS’s core values.

Recovery Housing

Safe and Supportive Environment

HOPE COS provides recovery housing for individuals early in their journey toward sobriety and stability, offering a substance-free environment where residents can focus on rebuilding their lives with necessary support.

Structured Support and Resources

Residents have access to peer coaching, employment resources, mental health services, and substance use treatment programs, integrated into daily life to support sustained recovery.

Building Skills for Long-Term Success

Our recovery housing program promotes independence and self-sufficiency. Residents develop life skills, build healthy relationships, and set goals for employment and stable housing while maintaining sobriety.

A Community of Accountability

The program emphasizes peer support and accountability, creating a community where individuals rely on each other for encouragement, advice, and motivation. This environment fosters personal growth and resilience for success after completing the program.

Community Reentry

Believing in New Beginnings

At HOPE COS, we support individuals and families as they reenter the Colorado Springs community following incarceration. Each client’s support plan is personalized based on their unique barriers and goals.

Peer-Led Support for Lasting Impact

Our reentry initiatives are led by passionate individuals who have successfully transitioned into the community, boosting confidence in what can be achieved.

Guiding Toward Stability

With a focus on empowerment and community, our team is committed to providing individuals with the resources and guidance needed for a successful reentry journey.
